Happy 30th Birthday Sweet Mamie
June 15, 1982 was a warm sunny day. I called Daddy at work to tell him I was having contractions and he said," Did your water break?" I answered, "No, not yet!" He said ok then I'll see ya later… What!! When your dad got home he got into the shower and was taking his time getting ready but now, by this time the contractions were getting stronger. His face said it all when he came into the bedroom and I was pacing back and forth working through another contraction! I had already walked Sarah and Jessie over to Gramma Sember's house next door. We passed Gram and Gramp Cairella on the road. They were heading over to see what the status was. I recall waving to them as we drove past them. Labor was quick as you were wasting no time making your entry! You were born so quickly in fact; I told you this before, we never made it out of the labor room! The nurse called to the doctor who had just delivered another babe and he barely had time to change his gloves and gown and catch you. He held you up to show us we had another beautiful little girl. When they gave you to me we locked eyes and I knew I loved you forever already. Your little face was turned toward me as if you had to search and study the features and face of the voice that had been singing and praying and talking to you for the past nine months. You stole a large piece of my heart and I'll not have it returned until we are all complete in eternity. The way you were born into this world is the same way you live. Amy, you have a zest for life. Eager to get out and explore, inquisitive about your surroundings, studying people and things to get the best perspective, your light and life illumines so many dim places. You have brought light to dark corners of places in the hearts of many with the love of Christ. As I consider your first 30 years it amazes me how much you have already accomplished. You have surpassed what most people twice your age do in a lifetime. And, you have only just begun. We stand along side watching in joyful anticipation what the next decades will reveal. You have so much more to do. So, stay true, clean and close to Jesus. Seek Him first and everything else will fall into place. We love you. You can count on prayer, love and support from me and dad. You have blessed us all. Happy 30th Birthday Sweet Mamie. We love you. Love, Mom & Dad
